Ghost towns happen all the time, as a function of economic shifts (which may or may not actually come from net economic GROWTH), demographic shifts (such as the recent shifting from low and high density to medium-density locations), and occasionally from natural disasters (Indianola).

By the time these current concerns are shown to be overblown, the fearmongers will have moved on to some other cause, and will be uninterested (as will the public) in truths past.</description>
