I’ve found that when you combine fundamental stock scans and a neural net classification model, you get good results.  WIT was one of those stocks that passed both my fundamental and neural net scans. I promptly entered WIT on May 15th @ $10.70 and currently sit on a small gain of 12.6%. Every month I update the model using a fundamental AAII scan to see if new stocks are added to the portfolio or if they drop off.
Are you interested to see the other stocks that made the cut from that model?

hey Tom did you buy WIT on prediction of the model you build in your tutorials?
best regards,
Stever
Hi Stever. The short answer is yes but the models I build are far more complex. The tutorials only give you the basics and don’t give away my secrets. I am in receipt of your email and will respond in a day or two.
okay Tom thanks a lot, I’m looking forward to your mail!
best regards,
Stever
Hi Tom,
Is there a Rapidminer tutorial on how to do this without your secret sauce?
Do you have any plans to do any other tutorials with Rapidminer?

I would guess, that the little secrets seperates the winners from the losers, so if I had the a recipe I would not share it on a web blog. The infos provided here a very solid starting point imo – but there will be lot of work from here to a good prediction model
ahh forget sth to ask: one thing, how to choose a good learner? There are a ton of learnes in RM, so which one to choose? Try one, make Xval try next one and compare?
DD: I’m so busy at work right now that I don’t have time to make any new videos, let alone post regularly. Stever is right, there’s enough information in the tutorials to give you a good start but I tend to keep my “edge” secret.
Stever: I like the nearest neighbor learners a lot.
Tom & Stever,
I guess you missed the _without_ your secret sauce part… I’m not interested in your IP or “edge”…
Just thought you would have been kind enough to point me to _one_ of your tutorials…
