To all my loyal Neural Market Trends readers

For the past year I’ve been debating shutting down my blog for many different reasons. At first I grew bored of it, then I had some family health issues to deal with, and now I’m getting terribly busy with work and life. I am forced to reassess many things in my life and formulate a new personal strategy, of which I start implementing today. I will keep this site open till the end of August and may delete it completely or just hide it away from view just in case I might decide to resurrect it one day again. I have enjoyed my time with you and I wish you the best in all your future endeavors. Cheers

Update: Something might be happening here again, soon.  Stay posted…

Work can get in the way sometimes. Hope to see you see you blogging again soon.

In the meantime, couldn’t you just leave the blog up? Maybe someone will find it using Google and it will solve some problem for her/him…

I agree with the person above. Please leave your site up, Thomas. Because of your tutorials I have found a new hobby that I love. Thanks for this fine gift!

Please can we keep this blog alive. Is it possible to share us your content?

    Tom,

After reading your blog last year, I decided to re-enter my passion for Artificial Intelligence and quit my job. My undergraduate degree was in the Philosophy of Mind. Years later, I built a successful company, but felt unfulfilled and uninspired. Reading your blog and going through the tutorials inspired me to quit my work, sell everything and go back to school. Now, I’m working towards a Masters, then a PhD in Evolutionary Computation and Machine Learning. I’m currently learning about Hybrid Wavelet Fuzzy Neural Nets and love every second of it. I’m really happy that I randomly found your page one night, while looking for machine learning applications to finance. Whatever you decide to do, thank you.

    Hi Tom,

It’s a pity to stop this good work. I propose to continue you blog as good as I can. Please leave me message or your telephone to discuss…

Sorry to see the site go :( I’ve been interested in the topic (although not necessarily for market trading) for a while and this site has so far had the best information.

I’ve been waiting for a break in my studies to have a go at the tutorials. Looks like I won’t have that chance anymore :(

I agree with the others, any chance on just leaving the site up? Or sharing the tutorials?

    Hi Tom,

Just recently discovered your blog. It is by far the best blog on this topic. It is sad that you stop it. Thanks for being so generous and sharing your insight. Good luck for the future.

Wow, I only just discovered your site today as it’s about to close! There’s some fascinating stuff here that I’d love to spend some time learning. I certainly understand how life gets in the way of our passions sometimes and I extend my sympathy to you. You’ve done some great work and thank you very much for sharing it with us. Would it be possible to leave the site up, even though you won’t be contributing to it for now? Best of luck to you and I hope you can get back to your passions soon.

Hi Tom – just wandered over to your blog via the CASTrader blog.

Instead of erasing the blog content how about if I mirror it at http://www.theaitrader.com. I did a bit of neural net stuff back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s but have moved on to Genetic Programming lately. I’d hate to see such interesting stuff just disappear.

I am working on a site for AI forecasting that I hope to launch this Fall. My focus is GP on Nvidia GPU’s these days. But I have done a fair share of NN coding and will have a corner for NN’s as well.

    Hello,

Inspired by the great content and tutorials on this blog and somewhat sad to learn about the last post, I’m happy to present you “neuralnetworkingtrends.org”. In the same look and feel, but necessarily with a different signature, I’ll try to continue to build tutorials on AI and datamining (mostly in Rapidminer and SQL Server, but also several add-ins for Excel). In addition, I’m planning to maintain a “stock of the day” section, where the stock is automaticaly picked by one of my neural network systems. Furthermore, you’ll find on “neuralnetworkingtrends.org” some interesting links to philosophy and cinema classics. For the moment, only the movie page has been loaded, but more is soon to come. Hope to meet and continue the discussion on “neuralnetworkingtrends.org”!

    Best regards,

    Marcel de Grauw.

p.s. Tom, if you decide to stop/delete your blog and if you don’t mind to share your tutorials, please let me know.

Wow thanks Marcel, great minds do think alike. I have also been building a community similar to neuralmarkettrends.com. Like you, I don’t want this information to go away either, and I look forward to enjoying your tutorials. Perhaps we could collaborate oneday?

I have forums as well, so we can all log in and discuss AI Trading.

    Hi all,
Thanks for all the kind words and support. I’ve decided to keep the blog alive and online for reference. I currently don’t have any plans on posting in the near future but would appreciate any mentions or citations from your blogs.
    All the best!

    Hi everyone,

I’ve started to post my first tutorials and I confirm that it takes some time to build these kind of presentations… Anyhow, I hope you like them and I’m looking forward to continue our discussions on http://www.neuralnetworkingtrends.com.

Thanks for your good work. I’ve always been fascinated by NN, but have yet to see anything approach the “intuitive” side of the game that great traders seem to win with so consistently. I suspect it is the money management side of the game more than the technical aspect. Market Forecast

It is money management, pure and simple.
