I was once told that the best time to start a business is in a recession. The reasoning behind it is that the business would get stronger once the recession is over. Essentially you’re starting at the bottom and can only go up from there.
From my experience, this is true.
I’ve started several businesses over my life and have closed several businesses too. Some were better than others too. I (we) still have our real estate business but it’s morphed more from a real estate investing business to a holding company.
A few months ago I got a copy of Tim Ferriss’s The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich book because my niece recommended it. She’s quite a sharp cookie and is busying launching her couple’s travel lifestyle site with her husband. I love their videos about living in Germany, die videos sind wunderbar! This is a subtle hint to go check them out!
While I like the idea of having a 4 Hour Workweek, I can’t seem to believe it.
There's nothing nicer than a roaring fire on a cold, gray, Winter day!
My daughter E is enamored with this book probably because she sees Daddy reading it. She likes to flip open random pages and pretend to read along. She even likes the charts and makes up a story that only a 2 1/2 year old can understand. She's overly defensive with my book and she'll routinely hide it from me because in her words, "its mine!"
I guess future option traders start early in life!
My family and I live in a semi-rural area of NJ and we're lucky to live on one acre of land near a lake, woods, and a hiking trail . Every year in Autumn and Winter we are besieged by birds looking for food, so usually around Thanksgiving I put out the bird feeders. I place them outside around then as not to attract any rogue bear left wandering the area and then take them down early Spring.
