Maoxian posted a chart of Rediff.com India Limited (REDF) today. This stock went public in the second half of 2000 and got caught in the Dot Com meltdown; so I decided to look at the volatility chart for REDF to see what the “action” looked like then.
REDF saw large volatility clusters between 2000 and 2003, then a period of relative calm as its share price bounced back. Yesterday we say a spike in volatility, so could this stock be breaking out to new highs? Only time will tell but the one thing that’s certain, periods of low volatility are followed by periods of high volatility.
