I’ve decided to close down the NMT Group Project #1 because it just died back in June; everyone stopped posting to it! Either the group lost interest or everyone got very busy with work and their personal lives. I’d like to think it was the latter case but you never know.
Personally, I’ve gotten extremely busy with work (I’m in Houston/st1:place/st1:city) myself and I’ve managed to pick up new clients for whom I’m building neural net models for. Since they pay my bills, they get preferential treatment :). I have so many things competing for my time right now, I must become choosy. I promise to keep posting to this blog, at least once a day, but be prepared for some lapses.
This does not mean I will forever do away with group projects and posting tutorials, I actually found them to be very valuable to me, my readers, and group participants. I plan on opening up an online classroom for the 2008 semester if I can put together a good syllabus and compile some good materials in time.
Also, I plan on writing an eBook that covers the application of the RapidMiner data modeling suite to the Financial Markets. I still haven’t made up my mind if I’ll give that away free on this site or as part of the online classroom for which I plan on charging tuition for.
